This collection of country parks is bursting with unique character and is a fantastic place to escape into the outdoors and experience local wildlife. The parks comprise over 80 acres of woodland and incorporate Westgate Wood, Oak Wood, and Jenny’s Wood. Each of the parks in this cluster of natural space has its own identity, eager for visitors to explore.

A popular location for families, dog walkers, and couples alike – there’s something for everyone to enjoy and it is available to all. At its centre are the Fisherman’s and Mallard Cafés of the Westwood Lake Lodges.

With 4km of all-weather paths, there’s plenty of nature to lose yourself in! All this is only 2 miles outside Boston’s town centre.

WESTGATE WOODS Dotted throughout the woodlands of Westgate are a range of beautifully crafted wood-carved statues of animals and wildlife. These statues are great to discover with younger children making it perfect for short family walks – can you spot them all? The area is filled with accessible all-weather paths and a host of benches and picnic tables to take a well-earned mid-walk break!

As an area of exceptional value to local wildlife, Westgate Wood has been selected as a ‘Local Wildlife Preservation site.’ Caddington Hedgehog Hospital release hedgehogs that they have nursed back to health into the woodlands – so please remember to keep dogs on leads!

OAK WOOD Journey through the natural archways of Westgate Wood onto the winding paths of Oak Wood and on into the open wildflower meadow sprawling with natural wildlife and scenic walkways. A beautiful stone owl tower rises through the fields of ground-nesting birds in the open space of the country park. A collection of hard-standing benches and an undercover picnic area make this a fantastic spot to escape the everyday, no matter what the weather brings.

JENNYS WOODS A short walk across the road from Westgate wood and Sir Joseph Banks Country Park is Jenny’s Wood. A fantastic labyrinth of meadows, paths and ponds surrounded by picnic tables, makes this a great spot for dog walkers. At the east end of Jenny’s wood is a spacious car park with a charming snack shack offering various refreshments and even treats for the dogs!

Sir Joseph Banks Country Park has plenty of car parking space available at either end of the park, on West End Road, Old Hammond Beck Road, and in the centre on Five House Lane.

This county park has been developed and maintained by Boston Woods Trust, a local charity committed to improving Boston's woodlands.
